“Immerse yourself deep into the inner being
and remain there in quiet,
constantly tending to the vineyard of one’s heart.”
St. Isaac of Syria, Desert Father, 7th century

On this pilgrimage we trace the Wisdom of the Heart from the ancient Egyptian Pyramid texts where the heart was venerated as the earthly throne of the gods to the timeless spiritual discipline of Prayer of the Heart.  In early Christianity and in the Islamic tradition, the heart was considered the meeting space between the human and the Divine, the only space in all the heavens large enough to contain the Creator. Through site visits, desert quiet time, presentations on history and mythology, and the practice of enduring spiritual tools we begin to sense the cosmic dimensions of our own hearts to uncover and reap its fruits of wisdom.
